Cyclists Save Man From Icy Saskatchewan River

January 6, 2008 (Saskatoon, Sask.) - Scott Paisley and Gerald Reshetnyk were out for a snowy Sunday bike ride in Saskatoon on December 30, when they saw a man floating in the South Saskatchewan River, according to an article in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix. Paisley and Reshetnyk knew they had to act quickly in order to save the man who had fallen in, as the air temperature was around -20 Celsius and the river was partially iced up. After calling 911, the two cyclists created a human chain, successfully rescuing the man.
