January 6, 2008 - The 2008 Burnaby Six Day wrapped up on Saturday night, with an even larger crowd than on Friday night. In front of at least 400 excited race fans, Symmetrics defended their 2-lap lead over Slipstream Sports, and claimed the 2008 Burnaby Six Day champion jerseys.

100 Lap 10 x 10 Madison
The first race of the final night was a fast 100 lap Madison. Symmetrics and Slipstream both took one lap on the tired field. US National rode a strong race, and were able to cushion their lead over Team dEVo by another lap.

Full Field Individual Elimination
Next up was a 22 rider miss & out. Riding was very tight, as riders were eliminated every 2 laps. Slipstream was able to take victory in this race, with Health Net coming in second and US National coming in third.

The final race of the night and of the 2008 Burnaby Six Day was a 140 lap Madison. US National took a lap on the group in this race, securing their 5th place in the overall standings. A mid-race crowd prime sprint worth $260 was won by Team Orange, with Chater putting in a sprint lap speed of over 66 kph!

Elite women racers also took to the boards, with National Champion Steph Roorda laying claim to the Burnaby Six Day Elite Womens Omnium.

The last day of the 2008 Burnaby Six Day also featured the Kiddie Kilo, with 25 kids under 10 racing around the warm up track to the cheers of parents and racers.

During the evening, spectators were entertained by a four piece rock band in the infield and by the antics of urban fixed gear cyclists as they ran several competitions including a running start scratch race and a foot-down challenge.
