January 7, 2008 - The Tour di Via Italia is celebrating its 50th anniversary - this year's race will take place on Sunday, August 31st, 2008. Are you up for the challenge? Check out just a few of the volunteer opportunities listed below.
Volunteer Leader Responsible for assigning volunteer duties and making sure all volunteers are kept happy and hydrated.
Course safety Team Volunteers Assist in setting up barricades around the race course. The Course Safety Team will be a group of people whose challenge will be to keep the course safe from vehicles and pedestrians. Each member of the team will receive a flag, and a whistle to assist in warning vehicles and pedestrians when the riders are near.
Early shift 9am- 1pm or Late shift 1pm-5pm
Sponsor Committee Welcome the sponsors and assist them with booth placement and setup.
Medical Aid Station Volunteers We are happy to hear from eager individuals with first aid experience.
Neighborhood Letter distribution Walk door to door to inform all course/ neighboring residents of street closure, car removal, course safety etc.
Kids Race Official Instruct children of race rules and assist with helmet adjustments.
